The first activity of the Benčić Youth Council  was a summer school called “By Railway…” (21st – 25th July 2014) during which the children explored the history and the symbolic meanings of Rijeka’s railway.

There was also an exhibition of the creative diaries that were composed of children’s thoughts, research, emotions, ephemeras, moments, pictures and ideas which were made during our workshops.

The summer school was made in partnership with Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, and in collaboration with Nadija Mustapić and Toni Meštrović, the Department of Culture – City of Rijeka, institutions State Archives in Rijeka, Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral in Rijeka and Public Library Rijeka.

Special thank you to the Croatian Railways for their support and collaboration.
